![]() It was also a MUCH shorter game than TLJ. Great characters, worlds, and writing all around. It was clearly rushed, whcih is really unfortunate because I think the series is pretty awesome. Even though you knew she was going to end up in a coma at some point during the game, I didn't think that's where they would end it! Arghhh. Chang was Zoe's and Faith's mother, right?) had to go and put Zoe in a coma. It was a touching scene I guess, but there wasn't really much time to develop an attachment to Faith from the time they introduce her backstory to the time she disappears. Dreamfall Chapters follows Zoë Castillo and Kian Alvane. I should have said resolutions to something that I cared about. I don't think the ending is bad, just very very VERY lacking in resolution for stuff that isn't about Faith. ![]() (one lil shank and fallen into a they resolve the little girl sub-plot and it's pretty well done. I also remember that the old lady was supposed to be April Ryan, and there's no way they would kill off a main character like her in that fashion. We might never learn what is the undreaming, what's the deal with that tower, what happens to zoe, april (come on), the crow and the assassin Skip to the 1:06:00 mark for the after credits scene. I say Funcom is in deap shit over their goddamn MMO and that the studio contracted to produce the sequel might lose its source of funding. Leaving 5 billion plot threads hanging in the wind. Even if the resolution to some plot threads is pretty satisfying and the plot twists at the end are pretty good, it doesn't excuse the fact that they don't touch the larger conflict AT ALL. I guess it's testament to the story for making me care about the fate of april, zoe, the crow and that assassin guy. And the part after the credits just adds another layer of WTF. This game might have the biggest cliffhanger in the history of EVER!!! It puts halo 2 and half life episode 2 to shame. I have played the longest journey but so long ago now I think I have forgotten important details. That was all fine and good until I reached the ending. Hannah was the girl working for Queenie, Faith was the giril trapped in a dream from Dreamfall (again, if you havent played it, you need to play it lol :D ), and Hope was the girl Zoe saved from a nightmare in the beginning of the game. Seeing april, crow and the crazy mage back was a truely great nostalgia trip. The point is, I still enjoyed Dreamfall and its complexe storyline and great characters. ![]() I played the longest journey to completion almost twice a very long time ago but I forgot most of the characters even though I still think it's one of the best advanture game ever made. On this note, there's a puzzle which requires knowledge from the events of the first game, and as we hadn't played it we simply had to make an uneducated guess, as the game provided no recap for us to take advantage of.Picked up dreamfall on the steam sale 2 days ago. Obviously those who are familiar with the series will get to grips with this third game easily, then, but on the other hand, if you're just now jumping in, some of the events and characters could mean very little and feel a bit distant. Dreamfall Chapters was funded via Kickstarter and released in episodes on PC between October 2014 and June 2016, and now the time has come for the full game to be released on console. Dreamfall Chapters by Red Thread Games is another episodic adventure with choices that matter, however, this works in a slightly different way when compared to the works of Telltale.ĭreamfall Chapters is the third part of a series that started way back in 1999, when The Longest Journey came out, with the second part coming out in 2006. But I'm not too sure that would make sense. Sort of like a place that connects all events in time, like a hub of some sort. I thought of the possibly that maybe the house of all worlds exists outside of time somehow. If you're familiar with Telltale's games, phrases such as "episodic structure" and "choices matter" are most likely in your vocabulary, even though choices sometimes don't matter as much as you would have liked. The scene from the end of Chapters is a repeat of the earlier scene from TLJ.
